I joined FSP in September 2022 as a Graduate UX/UI Designer. Before joining FSP, I completed my undergraduate degree in Interactive Media. I knew that I wanted a career in UX but was unsure of how I was going to get my foot in the door.
During my time at FSP, I have had the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects with clients from many different industries. Some of these include video editing, SharePoint design, presentation decks, training guides, and more. I have also worked closely with various internal teams including Pulse 360. As part of this team, I helped re-design our in-house employee engagement & feedback tool. I have also supported the Brand and Comms team, and the Digital Change & Adoption team. Working at FSP has provided me with valuable industry experience and enabled me to understand the areas I excel in and the areas that need development.
Furthermore, I have enjoyed contributing to internal initiatives. In my most recent role as Graduate UX/UI Consultant, I have begun writing weekly posts promoting our UX practice to the wider company, highlighting the importance of UX and the value designers can provide.
As I am currently studying for a Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), I am able to study new and existing UX principles and apply these practices to any work opportunities that may arise. Although working and studying in tandem has been a challenging experience, I am grateful to work for such a supportive company that enable me to be flexible with my time to achieve this milestone.
FSP has been a great place to start my career in UX. Although I have more to learn, I know that FSP is the best place to develop my skill set. I am excited about the amazing opportunities ahead of me and look forward to being able to provide more value to the business.
