We’re proud to present our white paper on the power of accessibility in digital transformation, revealing how, by focusing on accessibility, it can promote innovation and organisational growth.

In today’s dynamic workplaces, where one in four individuals faces a hidden barrier to success due to disability, accessibility is not just a moral imperative and legal obligation: it is a strategic business necessity to create a workplace where every team member can fully contribute to its success, unhindered by unnecessary barriers.

Through real-life stories, we uncover the profound impact of inaccessible tools and information on productivity, morale, and engagement and how these challenges can be overcome. Beyond legal compliance, we highlight the economic and social implications, illustrating how embracing accessibility is not just about meeting standards—it is about seizing untapped opportunities and gaining a competitive edge in today’s market.

Join us on a journey through the challenges and triumphs of integrating accessibility into digital transformation initiatives and discover actionable strategies to make accessibility a cornerstone of your organisation’s digital transformation. By prioritising accessibility, organisations can enhance user experiences, attract top talent, and pave the way for a more equitable and prosperous future.

Fiona Maher, FSP Principal Consultant and co-author of the white paper, adds, “I think we all agree that accessibility is crucial in digital transformation. It ensures that digital strategies and technologies are inclusive, serve a wider audience and include those with disabilities. If we design with accessibility in mind, we create much better products, foster more innovation, and make people happier.”

Our ‘Unlocking Potential: The Power of Accessibility in Digital Transformation’ Event

We are delighted to express our gratitude to everyone who made our recent accessibility event a resounding success.

We began with an insightful introduction from Paul Bevis and Fiona Maher, who highlighted the significant gap between the advancements in technology, particularly AI, and the progress in accessibility. “In comparison, technology has advanced, and the amount of data has increased, but much of it is still not accessible,” they pointed out. Following this important context, Fiona outlined the importance of accessibility, why it should matter to us, and the areas where it can make a substantial impact on individuals and organisations.

We were lucky to have been joined by five remarkable speakers and advocates of accessibility on our panel, Mark Blakeman, Kenny S. Kamal, Raj De Silva, Claire Dellar, and Jack Tame. Their insights and passion sparked meaningful conversations and left a lasting impact on all of us. The contributions from these experts along with our guests were invaluable, enriching the discussions with their diverse perspectives and experiences.

We shared accessibility stories, focused on the business impact and opportunities of accessibility, discussing what has worked well in our different organisations and sectors, identifying areas for improvement, and exploring what we can do differently. It was particularly important to hear this from the perspective of someone living with accessibility and disability needs. This was followed by an engaging Q&A session with our panellists, allowing the audience to delve deeper into the topics covered in the ‘Accessibility Stories’ section.

Lastly, we extend our sincere appreciation to everyone who joined us. Your engagement and enthusiasm made this event truly special. Together, we are fostering more inclusive conversations and making continued progress in creating a more accessible world for everyone.
